Welcome to Llanganuco Lodge, South America’s best located mountain lodge.

The lodge is right on the edge of the Huascaran National Park situated between Llanganuco and Rajururi gorges, adjacent to the lake and ruins of Keushu, nestled on a plot of 5.6 hectare at 3503 meters above sea level.

Llanganuco Lodge sits on the slopes of the Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range in the world. The lodge has spectacular views of the three highest peaks in the range Huascaran North (6664m), South (6768m) and Huandoy (6395m) along with many ice peaks to the south, of course the sunsets over the Cordillera Negra mountain range to the West are simply incomparable.

Our location provides unparalleled access to the Llanganuco and Rajururi gorges, these gorges are the gateways to the National Park. The Llanganuco gorge is the premier attraction of the park and is an easy 30 minutes walk. Here lies Pisco, YanaPacha, Chacaraju & Chopicalqui mountains, Lake 69, the Llanganuco lakes and the Maria Josefa trail. In the Rajururi gorge lies the lowest ice in the Cordillera Blanca at only 4000m.The Lodge is the ideal spot to acclimatise in comfort before undertaking some of the prettiest treks in South America.

With home-style hospitality, “arrived as a guest & left as a friend” we offer accommodation that ranges from camping to luxury suites with baths, fireplaces and down duvets. We cater to anyone’s taste or budget.

Our internationally-trained chefs offer critically-acclaimed cuisine each day. We provide breakfasts, pack-lunches and a 3-course supper which varies depending on what fresh local produce is available.

The lodge’s water is from a mountain spring which has been certified by the University of Huaraz for human consumption. It is delicious!

The lodge is a perfect place to visit all-year round. The traditional climbing season is May to October, with July and August usually the best. However, contrary to popular opinion the area is a wonderful place to visit all year round. Visiting outside the busiest months is very rewarding as you can trek for days without seeing another soul and have great weather too! (check out our great off-peak rates)
