Trekking the Santa Cruz Hike, Cordillera Blanca, Peru

The Santa Cruz circuit is one of the Cordillera Blanca’s and Peru’s most impressive multi-day treks. Situated in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, amongst some of the giant snow-capped peaks and impressive valleys, trekking doesn’t get much better than this. Typically, the trek takes 3-4 nights depending on individual fitness and trekking plans, taking you on a 50km trail that offers spectacular views of the impressive mountain ranges, peaks, and glacial meltwater lakes.

The trek can be completed either way round starting at Cashapampa exiting the valley at Vaqueria. The advantage of staying at Llanganuco Mountain Lodge, is that you save at least 2hrs travel time getting to your entry point if you are coming from Huaraz. You will also be better prepared, as our day treks are an ideal way to get in shape before the multi-day trek and ensure that you are well acclimatised and avoid altitude sickness.
